1. Acceptance of these terms
KaonForge is a platform for creating, publishing and reading comics and character pages, currently offered as an invite-only beta. By creating an account, redeeming an invite code, or otherwise using the platform, you agree to these Terms of Service.
If you do not agree with these terms, do not use KaonForge.
2. Beta status
The platform is under active development. Features may change, break, or be removed, and data may occasionally be affected during maintenance. We provide the service on an "as is" and "as available" basis during the beta.
3. Accounts and invites
Access is granted through invite codes. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account.
- Provide accurate information when registering.
- Do not share your account or transfer your invite without permission.
- Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of the characters, comics, series and other content you create on KaonForge. By publishing content, you grant KaonForge a non-exclusive license to host, display and distribute that content as needed to operate the platform.
You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to everything you upload, and that it does not infringe the rights of others.
Characters and stories on KaonForge must be your original creations (OCs). You may not publish licensed characters, or fan or derivative OCs based on third-party intellectual property (including comics, games, anime, films, or other franchises you do not own).
Published artwork must be human-created. AI-generated artwork is not permitted. See the Community Guidelines for details.
5. Acceptable use
You agree to follow the Community Guidelines. We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these terms or the guidelines.
6. Optional Patron membership
KaonForge may offer an optional paid Patron membership (currently $5 per month) for premium profile and character cosmetics. Reading, publishing and collaboration stay free and do not require Patron.
Patron billing is handled by Stripe. When you subscribe, you leave KaonForge briefly for Stripe Checkout. You can update payment details or cancel through Stripe's customer portal (linked from your studio when your account is linked).
If you cancel, Patron cosmetics stay available through the end of the period you already paid for (plus a short grace window we use for billing retries). After that, premium cosmetics turn off until you subscribe again. Saved colors and free or founding thank-you items are not removed just because Patron lapses.
One-time tips or other voluntary support (for example through our Support / tip links) are separate from Patron and do not grant Patron cosmetics by themselves.
Prices, included cosmetics and billing details may change as the beta evolves. Material changes will be reflected on the site and in these terms' "Last updated" date.
7. Termination
You may stop using KaonForge at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms, abuse the platform, or to protect the service and its users.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the platform evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
