Biography

Raven is a reluctant vampire: born rather than turned, whose bloodlust is nearly impossible to silence. A master of Illusion Magic and portals between worlds, she slips between dimensions as easily as others cross a room.

Despite trying to keep her distance, Raven’s curiosity, sharp wit and unrecognized allure draw people in - often leading to trouble. With a devil-may-care streak, she attracts chaos wherever she goes, yet beneath her sarcasm lies loyalty deep enough to risk everything for those she cares about.

Personality

Raven is a smart-mouthed mischief-maker with a wicked sense of humor. Both approachable and distant, she may share openly in conversation while keeping her deeper thoughts guarded. Loyal to a fault, she protects those on her good side fiercely, even recklessly, while betrayal earns her relentless vengeance.

Her curiosity drives her to know people inside and out, sometimes to live vicariously through them, sometimes to prepare for the chance they become enemies. She often teases or banters in ways mistaken for flirting, though she recoils at actual romance. Hot-headed and impulsive, she enjoys danger with immortal recklessness but beneath the chaos lies a calculating strategist who turns battles in her favor when she chooses.

History  (may contain comics SPOILERS):

Early Life  (Eon Series)

Adopted by a noble but childless couple on the island of Odilon, Raven grew up as a sickly child. Too frail to go outside much or make friends, she found comfort in music and taught herself to play the piano. Eventually, a doctor discovered she needed regular blood transfusions. After that, her condition slowly improved.

Odilon was known across the realm of Ostaria as the island of magic users. So when Raven’s gift for illusion magic finally surfaced, it felt like the first thing her parents could truly be proud of. She threw herself into training with everything she had and later traveled to Eltheros to continue her studies. But in her obsession, she neglected her condition. The bloodlust took over, and for the first time she turned feral, killing one of the students. Horrified by what she’d done, she ran.

Not long after, tragedy destroyed Odilon. She no longer had a home to return to.

Lost and alone, Raven survived on animal blood, barely hanging on. She eventually joined the mercenary company Anton's Arrows for a mission to investigate what remained of Odilon, hoping she might find some way back to her old life.

That’s where she found her new companions - fellow outcasts, just like her:

  • Ran Gavinmaur – a mysterious ranger, every bit as skilled with his bow as he was blunt with his words.
  • Ada – A passionate blacksmith with uncanny physical strength. Beneath her tough, calloused exterior lies a woman quietly haunted by vulnerability and uncertainty about her future.
  • Dani – a sheltered healer who had run away from safety, desperate to fight on the frontlines.
  • Vale the Shade – the reluctant leader, quietly wrestling with his own demons and past. A fellow immortal. Raven felt kinship with him.
  • Sylas Redgrave – cynical as hell, but reliable when it actually mattered.
  • Phoenix Oathwind – a talented healer with a strong moral compass who would soon learn that rules were only as good as the people enforcing them.

Together they became something like a dysfunctional family, forged through shared trials, constant danger, betrayals and tragedies. Their bonds were tested again and again.

During their journeys, Raven discovered she could create interdimensional portals. When the group was hunted in Eltheros, she opened the way to the realm of Eon, giving them all refuge. Reluctantly, she stepped into the role of leader while still struggling with her bloodlust. Vale began offering his own blood to help her, which in turn helped him control his rage curse. In time, romance bloomed between them.

But it didn’t last. Raven recklessly confronted their nemesis Savgall and was killed - along with her and Vale's unborn child.

Two hundred and fifty years later, she was revived. By then, Vale had moved on and had a family of his own. In one final battle against Savgall, Raven was forced to flee through another portal while Vale stayed behind to finish things once and for all.

Void City (Into The Void Series)

After escaping Savgall’s clutches, Raven’s portal flung her into a strange new place called Void City. Normally she’d have to focus on where she wanted to go, but in her panic the thought never came. Worse, she couldn’t find any way back to her home world somehow.

It took her a long while to lower her guard, but this strange dimension slowly let her breathe again. She formed real bonds for the first time in ages - new friends, a place among a superhero team called the Valkyries and eventually someone she could call her soulmate: Jason “Rem” Miller.

Finally, Raven had found true happiness and a bond that seemingly would last forever. Seemingly was the right word. Miller wasn’t truly immortal. Still, Raven clung to him for as long as she could.

But before she could even dwell on his mortality, her past caught up with her once again.

The Junction  Series (Ongoing)
See latest at: https://oculama.com/character/3

Time had worn her down to a shadow of who she once was. What little light and guilt remained, she finally let go. The bloodlust she had fought and feared for centuries became something else entirely :  a source of strength. What she lost in mercy, she replaced with unbridled ruthlessness and raw power.

Raven was a woman with a single, unspoken mission -  one she shared with no one.
